Collapse ▲The herbicide Brake has received federal registration and is awaiting a state registration review. This herbicide offers a different MOA to what we have been using in peanuts. With widespread ALS resistance and likely PPO resistance developing, this herbicide will likely be an important in our peanut production systems. Brake controls broadleaf weeds but will need a grass control herbicide for broad spectrum weed control. Brake needs to be applied soon after planting. It cannot be applied to emerged peanuts. Current projections are that it will be relatively expensive. I will discuss Brake at the production meetings in the coming weeks. The product label is linked below.
