ServSafe for Managers Information

A 2-day in-person ServSafe class for Restaurant Managers will be offered this summer by Alamance County Cooperative Extension and the Alamance County Environmental Health Department. 

Location: Alamance County Extension Office (209-C North Graham-Hopedale Rd. Burlington NC, 27217) 

Dates: July 31-August 1 (exam will be held on afternoon of the second day of class)

Time: 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.  

Deadline for Payment & Registration: July 12, 2023

Cost: $125.00 (Fee covers cost of the course, your book, and the exam) 

Registration Form: Visit Eventbrite to sign up or come by the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Alamance County Center, to fill out a paper registration form. Registration is on a first-come first-serve basis and is not considered final until payment is received. 

Course Details: 

Do you work as a manager in food service? Hoping to start your own food business? Looking for ways to give your resume a boost? ServSafe is a Food Safety Certification Course developed by the Education Foundation of the National Restaurant Association (NRA). Certification will be provided by the Educational Foundation of the NRA. A certificate will be awarded to all who successfully complete the course and pass the exam. ServSafe is an ANSI accredited program that is accepted by the Health Department for those managers and supervisors who need training. Certification is accepted throughout the United States for 5 years from the date of the exam.

Registration is on a first-come-first-serve basis by payment only. Please deliver or mail your payment of $125.00 per person by July 12, 2023. 

In the event the course is full, a refund will be given. Each participant will receive their ServSafe book upon payment if a book in your preferred language is in stock; otherwise, you will be notified of your book’s arrival via phone or email. Reading and studying the book prior to the class is highly recommended.

ServSafe books and tests are available in English, Spanish, Korean, and Simplified Chinese. Please indicate your language preference on the registration form. The class portion will be taught in English.

Registration fee accepted as cash or check. Make checks out to Alamance County Government with “ServSafe July 2023” in the memo section. Mail or deliver registration fee to:

To cancel, you must notify the Extension office by calling (336) 570-6740 or emailing Elisa Phillips at elisa_phillips@ncsu.edu. Refunds will be made only if cancellation is received prior to the starting date of the course. Refunds will also be given in the unlikely event that the class is canceled.
