Summer Canning classes are coming up if you are interested in learning more you can register online.

N.C. Cooperative Extension, Chowan County Center is offering a series of canning classes this summer. These classes will be fun, educational, and hands-on. Participants will learn the basics of canning and learn boiling water canning, steam pressure canning, pickling, and dehydrating. These classes will teach participants how and why to preserve their own food at home. Each class will be about 2hrs. You can pay a la carte $12 ea class or $40 for the whole series.

June 7- Italian Tomato Sauce- steam pressure canning- 4-6 pm $12 ea

July 25- Cantaloupe Pickles- pickling 4-6 pm $12 ea

Aug 24- Zucchini Chips-dehydrating 4-6 pm $12 ea
